Q: What are the language requirements for NMC registration in the UK?
A: NMC will accept an overall score of 7 in the academic version of IELTS. IELTS tests reading, writing, listening, and speaking. The candidate must achieve a score of no less than 7 in reading, listening, and speaking, and no less than 6.5 in writing. You will be able to club two score sheets which are taken six months apart.

Do I need IELTS for working as a chef or a hospitality professional in the UK?
No , you dont need an English language proficiency test score to work as a chef or hospitality professional in the UK. But for anyone who want to come to the UK on tier 2 visa for a non English speaking country, are required to do an UKVI IEKTS with a score of 4 or above on all modules, there are other exams accepted like Pearson SELT exam. If you are a degree or above holder you dont need an English exam, instead you can apply for UK ECCTIS certification to prove your media of education was English and it is equivalent to CEFR level required for your Visa.
Do I need a professional registration to work as a chef or hospitality professional in the UK?
There is no mandatory registration to a professional body for chefs and other hospitality professionals. Unlike nurses having NMC, Doctors having GMC, radiographers or physiotherapists or occupation health workers having HCPC registration requirement ignorer to work in the UK.
